Surrounded

When I saw the title for this one “ Unbridled Hope” I knew I needed to give it a try. Lately we have been grasping for hope since my husband was diagnosed with cancer back in March. I say this for the context of needing hope and healing. One morning a week ago, as I asked for guidance on this piece, God had me open my Bible to 2 Kings 6:16-18. Elisha and his servant were surrounded by their enemy and the servant asked Elisha fearfully what they could do… Elisha prayed simply that his eyes would be open. Then he saw clearly that they were not alone but instead were surrounded by the army of God’s horses and chariots of fire! I feel that passage brings hope and peace of the presence of God when we feel alone. In the process of creating this, my source changed several times as I felt the hand of God guiding me to put all the pieces in place. The water flowing from the woman is the Living Water. Her eyes are closed but she can see in the supernatural. The white horse is Jesus and He is near, protecting, guiding and bringing hope in the darkness. This hope is one that gives a future promise of His kingdom. My hope for this picture that has become profoundly personal and meaningful to me, is that it will physically and emotionally bring healing to whomever sees it. When we think we are surrounded by the Enemy, the One who loves us is surrounding us, like a wave or the soft flutter of a butterflies wing. He knows our needs and we can be at peace.
