Today we interviewed Stephanie Linden. An artist who makes paintings with neon colors and lots of pink. In this blog we will dive a bit deeper into her world of art.

What do you love to paint?
Tropically inspired paintings of birds, nature, and female figures.
How do you decide on your color combinations?
As far as the color combinations, I generally prefer to work with a limited palette and will either focus on complimentary colors or one main color. I usually work with a more bold palette but it depends on what the subject matter dictates.
Where do you think art in general is going to go in the next 10 years?
As far as art in 10 years, I would like to think that in the face of AI, handmade original art will be even more valued and sought after. Also, I don’t know what will happen in the world over the next 10 years but I feel art will be an even more important reminder of the beauty and good in the world.
Have you always been a painter?
Yes, for as long as I can remember.
What do you love most about your job?
I love that I get lost in my own world. When I am painting, I can do it for hours on end, and never get bored. I love the creative process, how exciting it is when a new idea comes, and seeing that idea play out on the canvas.
Are you able to make a living of it?
I just quit my day job, and I am starting to make enough money from my art that I can foresee it replacing my income in the not too distant future.
What do you hope to achieve in 5 years?
I would love to be in a number of galleries, and have thoughts of opening my own gallery someday.
In what kind of space would you love to hang your art?
I see my art hanging in homes and hotels. I would love for my collectors to see my paintings every day and be reminded of a beautiful place or a beautiful idea. Sunny spaces with loads of beautiful plants. My paintings can fit in a calm, serene space, or just as easily in a maximalist decor.
What inspires you?
My primary inspirations come from nature. I have been a birdwatcher since I was young, taking hikes with my dad, who was a wildlife biologist. I am inspired by birds, beauty and grace, and the idea of flight. I love all flora and fauna, especially tropical.

Marc Chagall, Georgia O’Keeffe, Tom Thomson, and the Canadian group of seven, Robert Heindel, and Renato Muccillo

What would your dream studio look like?
It would look like a combination of a greenhouse and a studio, all glass walls and tropical plants everywhere
What has been your coolest project so far?
I was the featured artist at an exhibition at a local community college last year and did a live demonstration painting which went incredibly well, and then I donated the painting for an auction to raise money for a women’s shelter.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I am fascinated by the play of light and how colors interact and I hope to bring that to my paintings.
