Rachel is a contemporary abstract painter and a tattoo artist based out of North Borneo, Malaysia. She did her Mastery Art Program at Milan Art Institute, Georgia United States. Rachel works in both acrylic and oil and often plays with an array of mixed media to achieve depth, texture and marks.
She is influenced by stories, thoughts, emotions, frequencies and the imperfect beauty of the natural world, as well as the works of artists like Helen Frankenthaler.

My love affair with art began at Sabah’s old State Library where I spend hours browsing through fantasy picture books. As a moody and contemplative kid, I was always lost in storybooks or drawing anything magical.
After studying an intense Mastery Art Program at Milan Art Institute, Georgia United States, I found my love for self-expression using texture, depth, color and marks. Combining a non-representational abstract with a myriad of different mix media mediums and unrestrained intuition allows my artwork to resonate with an original and authentic vibration, true to my own unique expression as I unearth the dirt and reveal the gold that was already there.
I'm inspired by stories, thoughts, emotions, frequencies and the imperfect beauty of the natural world.
My deepest desire is to create from within so you'll feel my purity and be inspired to seek it in yourself and come into the fullness of the unique sounds and frequencies that accompany your scrolls of destiny.
My curiosity and love for different expressions of art lead me to the artistry of Machine and Handpoke Tattoo. Paradox may it sound but the rigidity and detail tattooing complements my fluid and organic way of painting.
My current studio is located on a former paddy field in a laid back rural village call Kuala Penyu in North Borneo. It is made up of an ethnic Dusun Tatana group of people, water buffaloes, wild boars, yellow-bellied sun birds, insane sunsets, widely planted sago trees, ancient mangroves swamps and long stretches of beaches. I'm constantly at awe by its raw beauty.
