I can’t dive into that world myself, but I can paint my way there — and this piece is where I went. Moonlight shines through the surface here, descending in shafts of silver into the blue, and a mermaid glides peacefully, unhurried, in her home below it. A seahorse drifts at her side. Further down, jellyfish glow like distant lanterns toward a place not yet reached. She lives just below the threshold, close enough to still feel the pull of the world above, but already given over to the hush and glow of the sea — alien yet familiar, mysterious yet peaceful, the way the ocean has always felt to me.
