These animals are like mirrors, showing us the deepest parts of\u003cbr\u003eourselves.\u003cbr\u003eAs a lifelong horse girl, I naturally have gravitated toward equine subjects in my art\u003cbr\u003ethrough the years, but becoming a mother freed my artistic practice. This precious\u003cbr\u003elife—my daughter—had been entrusted to me, and I felt wholly inadequate at times.\u003cbr\u003eChildren come with no manual and have ways of activating your deepest fears and\u003cbr\u003einsecurities, of opening old wounds, but also unleashing unfathomable beauty as you\u003cbr\u003ebecome more resourceful, more tender, more healed. When my daughter was born, I\u003cbr\u003efound my matrescence manifested in my art in profound ways. My art changed.
