There are many magnificent things on this earth and one of them is the sight of an unbridled horse in an unbounded expanse. If that wild creature knowing it is free to leave but chooses to befriend, to stay, to trust, to eat from your hand and accept your caresses, then you are most likely one that knows the language older than words; a language that all of nature understands. Openness, love, empathy, sensitivity and kindness. And may we each become fluent in such traits; to mutually flourish alongside one another in freedom and a sense of unbridled choosing. For in truth the soul pines and kicks against the goads if it is any other way. This is a painting about personal agency, respect and awe inspired by one of the most stunning creatures ever to grace the earth.
