Mixed Media with Oil, Gallery Wrapped Canvas

A background based off of parchment, and a scientific drawing of a small group of mushrooms that transition into painted subjects.  Dark inky swirls like a night sky lead around the canvas, and a few little fireflies hide within the painting to provide their soft light.

Inspiration
Mushrooms have begun to hold a special fascination for me.  They are odd, usually ignored unless they are edible, and not normally considered beautiful.  However, some quick research reveals that not only are there ‘ordinary’ mushrooms like these Collybia mushrooms that can be quite lovely, but many species that are alien and gorgeous.
