Artist Van Life
I started my art journey as the "Solo Traveling Artist." I eventually changed my business and blog name to just Linda McClure Art to better encompass the breadth of my work and my growth as an artist. However, my true love, besides painting, is traveling. So as I close out of my teaching career, (I'm retiring in June, after 29 years) and into painting full time, I have scheduled a month long road trip to paint and participate in fine art festivals out of state. I will be traveling solo in my amazing camper van, Hawk. Van Life, here I come!! I have lived solo in my van for an extended period of time before. However, I have never done so with a full show of finished paintings and an entire booth set up packed in. When have I ever made life easy? My booth includes Propanel walls, a 10 x 10 canopy, and lots of odds and ends. Since I will be traveling for a month, I also want to bring painting supplies to enable me to actually produce while on the road.
This is Hawk in the mountains of Nevada in 2021 when I went on my first solo trip.

Art Shows
The two shows I am am participating in are in Colorado in July, one in Aspen and the other is in Keystone. I'll provide more info on those shows as I get closer to the events. I have lots of amazing sight seeing and painting opportunities along the way. To prepare for the trip I am making some upgrades to the van. I have added a roof rack and hitch cargo carrier for extra storage. I also found a really great AC unit! Even with all the extra storage space I doubt I'll be able to bring the bike. There are just too many paintings.
